It's National Apprenticeship Week!

It's National Apprenticeship Week! National Apprenticeship Week 2020 (#NAW2020), 3rd – 9th February 2020, brings together employers and apprentices across the UK and puts the spotlight on apprenticeships and how fantastic they are. When it comes to fashion apprenticeships Fashion-Enter / FTA is England’s leading fashion and textiles provider offering quality training at all levels.

Here’s what our current cohort of apprentices had to say about their apprenticeships so far:

Brittney Formos, Apprentice pattern cutter at Fashion-Enter:

“I have learnt how to communicate professionally and have started to open up more, being honest if I need help or advice and I feel my interactions with colleagues have improved.”

Gabriella Howell, Apprentice garment tech at Mountain Warehouse:

“I am always wanting to have a chat, my work has taught me how to be professional and communicate with other colleagues and external suppliers. I have a better understanding of how to deal with people. Working through difficult situations and dealing with pressure and meeting deadlines."

Selvie Brika, Apprentice couturier at Ralph & Russo:

“During this apprenticeship my personal skills have developed extremely. I would say my confidence, people skills and patience have improved massively. I have become organised and my knowledge of fashion has also improved.”

Matthew Morishima, Apprentice pattern cutter ready-to-wear at Ralph & Russo:

“My ability to work in a team has improved as well as my organisational skills and keeping track of the stock of materials. I have learnt to prioritise in regards to meeting deadlines as will as delegating work to the interns."

Iyana Morrison, Apprentice studio assistant at Intimate Apparel:

“I feel that I have developed stronger empathy and consideration for others. My communication and listening skills have also developed immensely."

Hawwa Diment, Apprentice pattern cutter couturier at Ralph & Russo:

“I have become more independent at working and it has encouraged me to invest personal time to developing my pattern cutting skills and doing personal projects. It has also taught me to persevere and try to make smaller milestones which are realistic to help me work towards achieving a larger goal."
