FTA at Creative Careers Day at LCB Depot

On 27th June, Divya Kamath represented the FC Fashion Technology Academy (FTA) Leicester at the Creative Careers Day at LCB Depot.

LCB Depot worked with The Leicester & Leicestershire Careers Hub to host the speed networking event for local secondary school teachers as part of an immersive professional development day around the creative & digital industries.

FEL’s FTA Leicester was one of the local skills providers invited to take part.

Divya said: “It was my pleasure to attend Creative Careers Day at LCB Depot on 27th June 2024. I would like to thank James at LCB Depot and Tom at Leicester and Leicester Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) for giving this opportunity to the Fashion Technology Academy to take part in this event.

“LCB Workspace is Leicester’s Creative Industries Hub and actively participates with several key sector led groups and networks and has built good working relationships with higher education, the city’s universities and what they are doing to build creative industries in Leicester is highly appreciated.

“We have supported LCB depot & LLEP by joining their speed networking event for local secondary school teachers as part of an immersive professional development day around the Creative & Digital industry. Secondary school and Academy teachers from all over Leicester i.e Madani School Federation, Moat Community College, Welland Park Academy, and many more joined this event.

“We were able to have one-to-one discussions with secondary school teachers about the highly successful courses and career paths we provide in fashion and textiles as well as our workshops, apprenticeship opportunities and employability courses.

“This really helped us to address the lack of awareness on careers in creative sector mainly in fashion & textiles. We are looking forward to attending many more events like this to create further awareness.”
