From Level 1 to Level 3 and Beyond

At the Fashion Technology Academy our aim is to launch each learner on their fashion making journey. Whether that’s repairing, upcycling and making at home, or continuing on to further education or a career in fashion.

The team love to hear how individuals have progressed and one recent example is Taylor, a former Level 1 Stitching student. It’s fantastic news that Taylor, who started out on Level 1 Stitching is now at the University of the Arts London, on a fashion degree course.

Taylor always stood out as a highly motivated learner, he always worked that bit extra, he was dedicated to the course and it’s with great pleasure that we can confirm that the Head of the FTA, Ingrid Homes, recently met with Taylor at the UAL’s MA Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation Demo Day.

FEL CEO Jenny Holloway commented: Taylor has been a model student first engaging with FEL two years ago for the AEB courses with CCCG AEB program. He has upskilled in all areas of stitching, pattern making and tailoring and he is currently on our new Level 3 program for fashion and business which we co-run with CCCG. This is the first course of its kind which results in the collection being created during the 34 week program, then marketed online with a free etail web site and sold in our shop on Fonthill Road, North London. As with business, education and learning has to keep evolving and the closer we can align to industry best practices and make our learners industry ready the better. A sincere thank you to CCCG for giving FEL the opportunity for this ground breaking new industry based course.”
