FEL Leicester Excels with Multiply

FCFTA (Leicester) was first in the country to be awarded Multiply budget and first to succeed in relation to the fashion and textiles sector.

Thanks to the Leicester team, and Divya Kamath, the Manager, FCFTA (Leicester) has excelled in delivery.

Multiply is the government’s £560 million initiative to help transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of adults across the UK. The programme focuses on numeracy and the ability to understand and use maths in daily life, home, and work.

Divya said English is not the first language of this multiply learner however her feedback on numeracy speaks volumes.

Divya said: “Since joining FEL I have retrained as a teacher and as I am bilingual I can really help our learners who are struggling with numeracy.  I’m very grateful to LLEP for their ongoing support.”

Don’t take our word for it! Look what one learner had to say: “I enjoyed this lesson because Divya could teach me in a nice way. She taught me about the garment lifecycle, about designer feedback as well as about gross pay, tax, net, deductions and measurements. She introduced me to numeracy.”
