Following Fashion-Enter Ltd’s first sub-contract with NPTC Group of Colleges – working directly with Newtown College, our FCFTA Wales is delighted to confirm that we have a new larger contract with Newtown for this new academic year 2022/3 starting 19th September 2022.
The highly successful courses in Level 1 and Level 2 in Stitching will run four-days a week from Monday – Thursday at FCFTA Wales, Fashion-Enter Ltd, The Royal Welsh Warehouse, 17 Old Kerry Road, Newtown, Powys, SY16 1BJ.
Supported by Ana Cover, senior stitching tutor from the Islington Campus, the tutoring team in Wales have worked hard to create an interactive and fun course which is standardised to the highly successful courses already run by the FTA’s at the Haringey, Islington and Leicester campuses.
Already two of the learners from the previous academic year have been selected for an apprenticeship in Level 2 in Sewing skills with Fashion-Enter Wales.
Annabella Lewis has been working with FEL Wales for almost two years and was previously at Laura Ashley commented: “I never thought education could be so much fun. We have worked with learners that have come into our Newtown Academy and they were initially so down-hearted and lacking in confidence and then they leave being able to make their own clothes and confident in their skills.
“It’s great to have these vocational skills especially as Gen Z are all making their own clothes at the moment and are looking for sustainable fashion.”
Fashion-Enter Ltd’s CEO Jenny Holloway also commented: “After the highly successful Made in Wales – The Fashion Event in the summer we are delighted to further cement our relationship with Newtown College this new academic year. We have lots of exciting projects in the pipeline with Newtown College and we are working closely wit Powys County Council to hopefully open a state-of-the-art Fashion Technology Academy next year.”
Exciting times ahead!
