Fashion Point UK Ltd Workers Learn About Their Rights

FCFTA Leicester continues to support factory workers and learners achieve qualifications in Level 1 Fashion and Textiles (Stitching) & the Level 1 award in Workers Rights’ and Labour Exploitation.

For the month of June 10 learners achieved a qualification in Stitching and 9 in Workers’ Rights. These courses have been funded through the Community Renewal Fund.

On the 7th July 2022 team members from FCFTA Leicester visited Fashion Point UK Ltd, a clothing manufacturer based in Leicester to deliver the Level 1 Workers’ Rights and Labour Exploitation course. This will ensure that workers know their rights in the workplace and covers areas such as how to apply for jobs safely, the National Minimum Wage, holiday pay and reading payslips. Workers are also taught how to identify the main signs of modern slavery and labour exploitation, and the ways these issues can be reported to the GLAA and law enforcement.
