Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Deputy CEO Jackie Bertram is currently (19th October) at SkillsCYMRU in Cardiff. This Skills event is the largest careers and apprenticeships event in the region. The Fashion Technology Academy is part of the UKFT stand, along with Gower College, and is showcasing the use of technology in manufacturing today with Gerber and Optitex interactive sessions.
Jackie commented: “Thank-you to UKFT for including Fashion-Enter Ltd onto their stand at SkillsCYMRU. It was great to discuss career pathways with students in Cardiff. Fashion is so exciting at the moment and there are many new roles that are emerging due to advancements in technology. I was showcasing the 3D design and pattern making program Optitex. Designing onto an avatar and using the software to create patterns eliminates the need for samples and reduces waste in development process. Students were able to have a go at creating a lay plan and achieve as high an efficiency as possible. It was great to showcase the breadth of roles available in fashion today and share apprenticeship and course information.”
SkillsCYMRU is on at Motorpoint Arena – 19th and 20th October 2022.
