University of Missouri students visit The Factory

On 3rd January Fashion Enter welcomed two groups of Business and Marketing students from the University of Missouri, all the way from the United States.

The aim of the Factory tour was for students to gain more insight into the UK fashion industry and the production process of manufacturing ethically. Both groups were welcomed by CEO Jenny Holloway and she began the two hour tour with an introduction and overview of Fashion Enter and it today it has become a fully compliant UK factory operating alongside the UK’s first Fashion Technology Academy offering qualifications across the complete garment life cycle.

Shortly after the introduction students were taken to the Factory floor by Production Director Caroline Ash, where she explained the breakdown of the garment life cycle in production for example the fabric delivery to the multiple stages of fabric inspection and much more!

Following the tour of the SMETA approved Factory, the students were shown around the Fashion Studio. Here they were presented with the process of sampling, grading and patterns.

The students gained a better understanding of how to evaluate and solve issues within fitting sessions.

Overall, both groups were brilliant! We look forward to welcoming Missouri University back to Fashion Enter, here are few comments from the students:

‘I learnt so much about what it looks like to work in clothing production, a great ideal more than I knew before. The factory tour was very insightful as well, it was very useful to hear more about jenny's own personal experiences in the company. I enjoyed the visit!’ Rachel

‘I have learnt how much regulation goes into fashion manufacturing and basic business processes. Both parts of the presentation were great and gave great insight into fashion manufacturing specifically. Thank you!’ Megan
