Fashion Retail Academy Students Take the Factory Uncovered Workshop

On the 4th November 2019 Fashion-Enter welcomed an intimate group from the Fashion Retail Academy for our popular Factory Uncovered workshop.

The group of 6 students spent time with our Production Director, Caroline Ash discussing manufacturing process from initial design sketch to finished garment, factory processes and the importance of health & safety in this environment.

Caroline also discussed the importance of building and maintaining relationships between the manufacturers and buyers, and how the UK is managing to stay competitive against off-shore suppliers.

The group were then taken on a guided tour around the Factory where they were shown what happens at each station and of course given the opportunity to ask questions along the way.

Feedback from the group included:

“An excellent session - very engaging throughout.” - Jess

“I learnt about factory processes for both High Street retailers and small designers. Also how hard it is to find a good factory. A really good visit and very informative.” - Jenny

“Absolutely great to be here and have gotten this wealth of information. Thank-you!” - Felicia

“I learnt a lot of insider knowledge about suppliers that I wouldn’t have been able to access anywhere else.” - Georgia

“Learnt a lot about the garment making process and the factory layout. Felt really comfortable to ask any questions.” - Amira
