Fashion Communications, Merchandising and Buying students from Teeside University Factory visit
On Wednesday 21th February 2018, Fashion Enter Received the Fashion Communications, Merchandising and Buying students from Teeside University for their site visit.
The students came down to London to visit Fashion Enter for a factory tour and to receive a real insight into what goes on in an ethical SMETA and fast forward factory in the United Kingdom.
Upon arrival students were greeted by a member of staff, who then escorted them upstairs for a presentation with Director Jenni Sutton. The presentation gave them an introduction to Fashion Enter and all the workshops that it has to offer, which included, Pattern Cutting, Garment Technology, Buying and Merchandising.
Shortly after the presentation, students were taken down stairs for the start of their Factory tour with Caroline Ash, Director of Production. Caroline talked the students through the factory health and safety policy and then lead them onto the factory floor where they got to learn about the ins and outs of the garment production process, from Pattern Cutting to the broken needle policy to when the garment is packed up to ship. The students also got an important insight into how the Factory is ethical and sustainable. Students were then showed all the machines and explained how each one operates.
As a whole the visit was a Success and it was a pleasure to receive the Fashion Communications, Merchandising and Buying students from Teeside University.
