Ethical Trade Association team from ASOS visit The Factory

On 16th November a team from the Ethical Trade Association at ASOS visited the Factory.

The cohort of 10 comprised of new starts at ASOS who had never visited a factory before. Their roles across Ethical Trade, sourcing and sustainability meant they would soon be involved with visiting factories and conducting audits, therefore a tour of our Factory, which received leading status with the ASOS Fast Forward audit was highly beneficial to their job roles.

The aim of the visit was to show the team exactly what an ethical factory should look like, and also reveal the tricks of unethical factories so they know what to look out. The visit involved a tour of the factory floor where Production Director Caroline Ash took them through each stage of the complete production process. They were taught the different stitches, machine operations and how long it actually takes to stitch a garment. Caroline also explained our policies and procedures and how we are compliant.

Overall the tour was hugely insightful with everyone commenting on how much they had learnt and how it would benefit their day to day roles going forward.

Feedback included:

‘I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for your time on Friday. Everyone came back buzzing from it and said how good the experience was.’ Deme, Junior Ethical Trade Associate

‘Thanks so much, learnt so much today!’ Audrey, Ethical Trade Assistant – Branded
