Fashion Enter attends Careers Festival

Yesterday Stitching Academy tutor Ana visited Hackney Town Halls which held the Careers Festival for advice guidance.

The stand was busy all day - we were inundated with requests for our stitching academy as well as our perfect pattern courses. Generally what I am finding as lecturer in the Stitching Academy is that there are lots of school leavers that have poor limited career advice. Generally school leavers know about A levels and going on to university but they do not understand about all the potential courses there are in technical skills and apprenticeships.

Similarly with jobs I find that many people understand about being a designer and aim high by wanting to showcase at London Fashion Week but they do not understand the complexities of how a garment is constructed and how a garment is made with a pattern.

This is why Iove my job. At Fashion Enter Ltd we teach only technical skills that mean our learners leave proud with their heads held high and they can physically make a garment from start to scratch. By level 2 - a 12 week course - the final end garment is a long sleeve shirt complete with bagged on cuff, yoke, front fly, double turned hem, two piece collar and we are very strict on our standards.

The doors are open for everyone to come and visit us

Thank you to Hackney Council for a great event - we had lots of enquirers and we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of learners to our premises at Crusader Estate Haringey in North London in two weeks’ time.
