Fashion Enter & Belles Of London Present At Eco Luxury Showcase In Mayfair

On Thursday 18^th April, Fashion Enter and in-house label, Belles of London, took part in Eco Luxury Showcase; an exhibition, talk and catwalk show promoting sustainable, quality fashion.

Held in the elegant surroundings of the University of Women Club in Mayfair, London, Development Manager, Lorna Tavares met attendees on the Belles of London stand while CEO Jenny Holloway discussed sustainability, ethics and fashion alongside Roberta Lee stylist and founder of Ethical brand ‘Library’ and Anya Pratt founder of ‘Willique’ Bags and accessories.

Jenny Holloway commented: “Fast fashion is talked of in a negative way, we can make a new garment in just 3-weeks minimum’s of 100 to 500. We are nimble and can react to what customers are buying, producing in this way ensures that less waste is created with unsold or discounted stock that no-one really wants. If you compare this to production in China the lead times are much longer and the orders are in the 1000’s – this is an outdated way to work and creates excess stock. We need a sense of realism.”

On launching in-house label Belles of London she said: “People who pay a premium price tend to value their purchases. The Belles collection was founded on quality and sustainability, beautiful pieces made in London for women who want timeless fashion.”

Roberta Lee, stylist and founder of Ethical brand library, continued: “If your not going to use it 100 times it’s not sustainable! My advice is to focus on your style, shape and colours that suit you. Invest in key pieces that have a story.

“With Fashion Revolution – ‘Where do my clothes come from?’ We are entering a realm of consumer consciousness and it is great to see this shift.”
