‘Community Capacity And Assets’ At Redmond Community Centre
21 March 2019
Wednesday 20th March 2019 ‘Community Capacity and Assets’ at Redmond Community Centre
Stitching Academy tutor Ana attended an event/workshop on ‘Community Capacity and Assets’ at Redmond Community Centre. The Centre has been running ‘Improving Health & Wellbeing’ events throughout March, consisting of workshops, presentations and information stalls. A large turnout from the community was expected, this was a chance for local residents to find out what goes on in their local area and what services they can access. This was also a great chance to promote FTA courses.
Ana met with Max Pozzoni, Supported Employment Advisor – Employment and Skills for Hackney Council and invited him to come visit the FTA to discuss a potential partnership moving forward.
Emmanuel Wachukwu, project manager for Manor House Development Trust said: “Just wanted to extend our sincere appreciation to you all for being a vital part of the workshops here at the Redmond Community Centre these past three-weeks.
It was great to be able to highlight the services you provide and showcase the amazing work you do in the local area. Our aim was to provide relevant information to the residents of Woodberry Down, and I believe we did just that. Once again, thank you for being part of the process, and I look forward to welcoming you all back to the centre soon.”
Ana added: ‘It is always a pleasure to support the community and its residents. There might be an amazing opportunity for Fashion Enter and its learners to get involved in Hackney Carnival this summer, watch this space!’
