Diploma - Accelerator Bespoke Cutting & Tailoring (500/8986/9)


The Accelerator to Bespoke Cutting and Tailoring is a 24 week course that builds on the experience gained studying the pre apprenticeship or previous experience in tailoring.

This course will provide you the skills and understanding you need to develop your career in bespoke tailoring or garment production Centring on finite skills such as hand tacking and hand stitched buttonholes. There will be a strong emphasis on the bespoke luxury industry and how to develop excellent customer service skills.

Optional units include: Construct Patterns for Bespoke Tailoring, Carry Out Bespoke Selling, Make Handcraft/Bespoke Trousers or Skirt and Waistcoat: Basting, and more.


Learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits and a maximum of 39 credits from one pathway. This must include 3 credits from the Mandatory unit. Learners must achieve a minimum of 34 credits at level 3 or above.

How you will be taught

Highly qualified technicians and lecturers who have over 35 years of experience are available to provide individual hand holding support and mentoring. You will have access to an industrial environment with the Factory, Fashion Studio and the Fashion Technology Academy. Some formal learning is required with portfolio work but the majority of this course is practical development of skills in pattern cutting, fabric cutting and stitching.


What's Next?

Learners who complete this qualification can progress to a variety of higher level training and study programmes such as the Level 5 Bespoke Diploma in tailoring or employment in tailoring or garment production. The accelerator is also a strong solid course for designers who wish to create their own patterns and samples for their collections.
